The ram was named the official mascot of Colorado State in 1946. By the end of the decade, the nickname of "Aggies" had evolved to "Aggie Rams", and eventually became simply "Rams".

Before 1957, Colorado State University was referred to as Colorado Agriculture and Mechanical College or "Colorado A&M", and athletic teams were referred to as "Aggies".

Arena History - Moby Arena is an 8,745-seat basketball arena in Fort Collins, officially known as the Colorado State Auditorium-Gymnasium, was opened on January 24, 1966. The arena was built to replace South College Gymnasium, which was built in 1926 and seated 1,500 people.

Stadium History - Canvas Stadium, officially Sonny Lubick Field at Canvas Stadium, is in Fort Collins, Colorado. It opened in 2017 on August 5, and it replaced Sonny Lubick Field at Hughes Stadium, which had been the Rams' home since 1968. Colorado Field was the home of the Colorado Aggies and Colorado State Rams from 1912 to 1967. It was the first sodded football field in Colorado history, replacing Durkee Field (1899–1911). Colorado State football dates back to 1893, when it was known as Colorado Agricultural University.
